The Pregnant Diaries - Weeks 14, 15, & 16

3 weeks you say? Why yes, I am that lazy. ;)

Week 14
Halloween! I must be honest, Halloween is not my favorite holiday. I am a wuss when it comes to scary things, I don't feel like spending an arm and a leg on candy that might not be given away because of the lack of trick or treaters nowadays, and I have no creative ideas on costumes (and I fear that if I did I would end up spending too much money on them). Sad? Yes. I do have a goal to actually decorate and take my kids trick or treating (when we have them). So, the verdict is:

1. Halloween isn't for me.

2. Halloween is happy fun time for kids that love dressing up and eating candy (I think it's safe to say that this Holiday is pretty much for ALL kids.)

Needless to say, I know adults have just as much of a blast, if not more, as kids do. I must confess that I have this guilty pleasure of seeing what all my friends, family, and acquaintances have thought up for the Holiday, even with my lack of interest to dress myself up. And while I'm confessing ~ I also secretly want to be scared during Halloween, but then when I am scared (whether by movie or game) I tend to have nightmares and sleepless nights afterwards. This puts me in my right place and reminds me of why I steer clear. :)

So, Halloween day arrived. We put a note on our door saying we had no candy, which I found to be a bit sad because I'm not averse to handing out candy, but we just didn't buy any this year. We'll just pretend it was for the reason that we didn't want to be eating all of that delicious cavity-inducing substance. So, what exactly DID we do for Halloween? I decided, at the last moment, to buy some tiny pumpkins. My thought was to make "pumpkin snowmen" with Paul. We each took 3 pumpkins and ended up having a great time decorating and painting them to whatever we desired.

I just realized that I don't have a final picture of my pumpkin/snowman, but Paul does. :( Mine had the hat, a button shirt thing, and arms (made of real sticks I found out in our yard).

Later in the week I had my second appointment for Baby. It was pretty quick and easy. Pee in a cup. Check for Baby's heartbeat. Update doc on any problems. I told him about my back pain, but kind of already knew what the answer would be.

I honestly think they have a once a month appointment just to relieve the mind of the mother that yes, there is a baby still inside of you.

Later in the week I stopped by the Nielsons to pick up Cristina's maternity clothes that she said she'd let me borrow. Free maternity clothes? Heck yes!

How Big Is Baby?
A lemon!! Still so small!

Me at 14 weeks. Not very big, but I was proud of that bump.

What's Icarus Up To?
He literally climbs into these blinds if they are closed. I don't know how he does it without breaking them.

He's offended they are closed.

I didn't realize our camera did panoramic! Just testing it out. I should use it again sometimes as it totally rocks my socks.

Sleepy time? (Paul loves to put things on Icarus and see him get offended.)

Weeks 15 & 16
And this is why I clumped all of these weeks together. Not much occurred other than work. I mean, I honestly feel SO normal that I sometimes forget I'm pregnant. However, the mirror reminds me daily of my folly. The only other thing that is a constant reminder is my super smell super power and my ability to dry heave at any opportunity.

I must warn you that super smell is not a super power you should desire. Who wants to be able to smell a baby's stinky diaper from a mile away? Not I! It's even torture with the smell of really delicious foods. Such as smelling some great food someone else brought ~ making you crave it, want it, need it. It's either that or smells that make you nauseous or, in extreme cases, puke.

Even if my coworkers think it's cool I can smell their candy from across the office, I don't think I will miss it when I don't have it anymore.

How big was Baby during these weeks?
A naval orange at 15 weeks. So tasty!

An avacado at week 16! We just love our avacados! Especially baby shaped ones. :)
And now for another round of Icarus
Awesome balance.

His face was seriously like this the whole time. He wasn't just blinking in the photo.

And here is another picture for proof!

we painted out pumpkin this year too! We just didn't get around to carving it and by the time we did, we were afraid it might be too old, so it just got painted. Your belly is starting to show! Cute!
