The Pregnant Diaries - Week 11

During this week my back started to reeeeeeally kill me. My sciatic nerve usually acts up after I do a vigorous activity, but now it just started aching at the end of the day. Each day this week it would start feeling worse and worse. I did some research on the internet and found that taking walks and doing stretches each day would help.

So Paul and I began a little schedule of taking some power walks every few days. We change up the time. For now we did 15 minutes one day, 20 the next, 25 after that, and then back to 20 again. Then afterwards I would do some normal stretches such as trying to touch my toes. I am REALLY out of shape and don't have one single stretchy limb on my body. So this is a very painful process. BUT, it has been working! By the end of the week my back started aching less and less.

This was the week I also decided to order some books. These books were recommended by a gal from the college married ward we used to go to.

As you can see I swiped these photos from Amazon because if you click on them, you most likely will not be looking inside. :) So far I have skimmed through a lot of Pregnancy, Childbirth, and the Newborn. It's really great because it gives you a lot of facts and it also has a lot of images. It will tell you what your body is doing, what baby is doing, how to prepare to give birth, exercises you can do, nutrition, etc. I highly recommend this book as it will talk about how to prepare for giving birth should you decide to do it at the hospital or even at home. It pretty much touches on everything. :) And it talks about the Newborn at the end of the book, but I haven't reached that point yet.

I've already started reading The No-Cry Sleep Solution, although I should be reading this book last haha. I really love the way it's written, so it captures my attention a lot better than the books that are more "textbook-like". Really great info! I will definitely keep this book on hand if our baby is waking up a ton in the night crying.

I haven't opened The Baby Book yet. I'm waiting until I reach the third trimester to start reading here as it talks about the baby after the birth. It starts from newborn and teaches you about your baby for their 1st and 2nd years as well.

How Big Is Baby?
Baby is as big as a Lime! About 1.6 inches. :)

What Is Icarus Up To?
Paul hung a stretchy cord on the door and tied a mouse to the end of it.

Iccy loves to step into bins. He just stood there for a while with his two front legs in it.

Then he repositioned himself and started organizing things for Paul. Paul just looooves that (sarcasm).

Sciatic pain is awful!! Hope you're able to keep it under control...as you get bigger there's a chance it's going to get worse. ugh. Pregnancy is not for wimps!!

Icarus seems to be training you for when your baby comes. :) Get used to messes!
